The Tent Situation
Bringing your own tent is much easier than it sounds and you’ll love this three person tent (which is actually perfect for two). On holidays, you can also find great tents on sale like at REI or Sports Basement. When buying a tent I would consider the number of people you need to fit and then purchase a larger tent for space. I would also consider purchasing sleeping mats or using a yoga mat to sleep on so that you’re not directly on the hard floor. In terms of blankets/ pillows, I typically bring two blankets for my husband and I to share (or a sleeping bag) and a couple of small pillows.
Top 3 Things to Do
Swimming Pool
Enchanted Ridge has a campsite directly across from a beautiful swimming pool! The water is chilly but perfect for the hot weather and shaded by massive trees. There's also a diving board, lounge chairs and a few steps if you want to hang out on the shallow end of the pool. A couple of quick tips before swimming are to clean out the pool of leaves and bugs (you’re still in the woods), don’t touch the frogs (even though they are so cute) and make sure to bring some pool toys!
Play Basketball or do a Yoga Class
Yep, there’s a basketball court and a yoga studio! You can play horse, a game of ball or just shoot hoops on the court. The yoga studio comes equipped with yoga mats, a fan and long length mirrors for a fun class. Our group decided to try a relaxing yoga class together but we noticed another group used the studio as a dance room for a late night dance party! Either way, the studio is fabulous and perfect for any activity.
Swim in the Pond
The pond is perfect for a hot day but beware of the bugs! If you’re not careful, you’ll get eaten by mosquitoes. The trick is, to stay near the water and if you’re not swimming wear a long sleeve shirt or towel around yourself to protect your skin. This pond is also natural, which means that if you swim aggressively or touch the ground you might disrupt the natural ecosystem. You’ll need water shoes to be comfortable, check these out. Make sure if you do visit to bring your own floaties to make sure you take care of this beautiful mini body of water!
