Cabo's Secrets

Insider Tips

  • Stay at a Resort! Not only are they very affordable, they are also a safer option that offer all the amenities you could ever need.
  • If you'd rather stay in a rental home, find one in a gated community and be sure you have the address or general location to provide taxis when you arrive.
  • If you do stay at a resort, HIDE your money & valuables!! Don't use a safe, bring your own lock and key because if something is stolen from your room, most resorts won't do anything about it.
  • Although the water is beautiful, it's not a place where you would swim in the ocean on a beach day. The beaches are open in some locations but the water is cold and the tide is strong so typically people do not swim in the water unless you have a house on the beach.
  • DO NOT drink the water! If you're from the US, there is a high chance that the water will make your tummy grumble & you'll spend your vacation on the toilet. Try to stick to bottled water.

Top Things to Do

1. Squid Roe

cabo/clubver.jpeg

Squid Roe is party central! It's a night club that offers the cheapest drinks/ bottle service and the vibe is pretty wild but you don't have to get all dressed up like a typical club. The appropriate attire is flats, and a dress/ romper or shorts and a cute top. When you arrive, you can dance the night away at Squid Roe or you can hop around to the clubs nearby. If you have a large enough group, you can book bottle service ahead of time because you'll save money by doing so. When we visited, it was over a weekend so I'm not sure how exciting these clubs are on weekdays, but since Cabo is a classic vacation spot they should be open most of the week.

2. Pool Parties

Resorts often have a ton of pools for every age and usually offer activities at the pools. Most resorts host pool parties both day and night, so if your resort doesn't have them you can buy day passes for other resorts like Breathless. My recommendation is to wait until you arrive at your resort to book these parties because it's really difficult to know what events your resort has going on that week by searching online. The pool parties can be family friendly as well, depending on the resort. Most of the parties have a theme, like bubble party or glow party so you can plan your nights around what you like most.

3. Mango Deck

Mango Deck is one of Cabo's gems if you like to party! When you arrive you can either grab a cabana on the beach or take a seat inside. Typically in a cabana, a beach waitor/ waitress will come and serve you drinks but the real fun is inside. The show “inside” (which is still outside just closer to the bar) is a series of contests, playing games and giving out drinks and prizes. We highly suggest someone in your group enters one of these contests because you can win FREE bottle service! If your group isn't into participating you can always cheer people on from your table, and either way you'll have so much fun! I believe Mango Deck also serves food, so if you're hungry you can always have lunch while watching the show.

4. ATVs

If you love a little adventure, make sure you and your crew rent ATVs! You have the option to book ahead of time but we would recommend waiting and hanging out near the ATV rental area where you can negotiate a fair deal for you and your group. You'll often get a better price by doing that rather than booking early unless your group is really large. On this adventure you should expect ATVs, a helmet and a guide to take you through the terrain which is usually alongside the beach. I don't believe Cabo has sand dunes but the track you will follow will still be a ton of fun.

Top Places to Take Cute Pictures

Beach

If you hadn't noticed, I had my bachelorette here, hence our matching outfits. If you can, I would highly recommend doing a mini photoshoot with your friends to remember the trip. It's a ton of fun and you can hire an inexpensive but experienced photographer on Flytographer! We only paid about $30/person for our shoot and it was a ton of fun.

Poolside

Cabo has the best views, especially from the pool. There are a ton of opportunities to snap a pic poolside but don't let a photo session distract from having a great time!

On a Boat

Whether it's a group tour, personal boat or mini charter, boat pics are always a good idea. If you get seasick, make sure to shoot early!

Top Dining & Drinks

Restaurant El Pescador

Although this is not the most attractive restaurant, the food absolutely makes up for it! You will never have better tacos in your entire life! Plus, it's open late night if you want to visit after dancing all night at Squid Roe, it's walking distance.

Hire a private chef!

If you decide to take the route of renting a house, many homes in Cabo offer the opportunity to hire a private chef. My husband did this for his bachelor party and they couldn't be happier to wake up to breakfast made right in their home. Typically chefs charge per person and you'll get to choose from many options off of a pre-set menu.

Flora Farms

I haven't personally visited Flora Farms but my good friend Ana swears by it! She told me it was an absolute MUST when you visit Cabo. This culinary experience is literally farm to table and the food is freshly grown on their 25 acre property. Although a bit out of the way, I absolutely would take the time to visit the next time I'm in Cabo. Make your reservation here before your trip!
